Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Release Date: May 1 2019. For Immediate Release

The premiere of “Buoy” a pilot episode produced by Buoy Productions, will hit Temple’s Theater of Performing Arts in early May for fellow students and indie movie buffs to enjoy. It stars an array of talent including Temple theater students and local actors and was produced entirely by a team of six Temple production students.
Buoy dives deep into the lives of five swim instructors as they navigate the nuances and quirks of working with other young adults trying to find their place at a mediocre job. This piece focuses on the day to day life at the pool for Buoy’s lead Avery, played by Joey Tighue, as he struggles to outgrow his sheepish, awkward persona and cultivate the confidence he longs for.
The trailer was released for viewing on Buoy’s website on April 10th.

This pilot features other local actors including Alex Velez, Mason Walheim, Alice Hakvaag, Brian Basenfelder and Nadia Tavella. The script is the work of Michelle Potter and the entire pilot was produced by production students Lawrence Liu, Megan Swick, Giovanni Vazquez, Bill Lewis, Connor Eischeid and Minh Mai.
This is Buoy Productions’ first standalone pilot episode. It will be available for early test screenings April 16th and 18th. The final cut is scheduled to launch early May.
The premiere is a no-cost event and will showcase other student short films. For more information and to access behind-the-scenes highlights, go to https://teambuoyproduction.wixsite.com/buoy.
